For those of you who did Kumon, was it even worth it? Like I know the whole point of Kumon is for your kid to get ahead in math and reading and be like multiple levels ahead of their classmates and whatever Like a 6th grader doing highschool level math so that they can be ahead in math class and have no trouble once they get to highschool But honestly I hated Kumon and I thought it was kind of a scam because they never really taught you

Thinking of quitting Kumon math. But what’s the alternative? My child’s weak in maths, and after doing Kumon math for two years (grade 3-5) he’s still quite weak at it despite doing about 150 sums a day You have to master the topic before progressing to the next one, so if you’re stuck on a problem you’ll be doing the same sheets for months It’s also expensive

A high school student, whether private or at a cheaper center like Kumon, is not going to have the curriculum resources that a Sylvan does There is no script at any Sylvan, though Their curriculum is really solid for reading, writing math However, a good center trusts the director of education tutors to help kids succeed in any subject
