- Changing the rules setup - Support - Online Go Forum
OGS on the server side would only need to offer an option for the bot to send stone life death markings using presumably the same server-side logic that already exists for players sending life death markings Then the bot script can use that option
- What OGS mobile app are you using? - Online Go Forum
Here are the relevant threads for these apps in case useful I think my main question would be, why do you think there is a risk of OGS banning your apps? What are you looking to do beyond providing a way to play on OGS via mobile? What will you do better than the existing apps? Is it relevant that these apps have been around for a long time and are not banned!
- Server comparison (ranks) - Online Go Forum
I’d encourage folks that use such terminology to add precision and nuance, given that no international standard exists afaik for Go rankings e g Japan’s go club rankings are generally inflated compared to OGS rankings, typically by a few levels Note that I didn’t say “Japan ranking” since that doesn’t exist

- A good OGS learning strategy? - General Go Discussion - Online Go Forum
I focus on 9x9 games, due to short periods of available time I’m around 10k Mostly I play on another Go server where there are more players near my rank, which is why my profile shows few games here I’ve thought up a strategy for getting better at go where I start playing unranked against an AI bot, then at a critical move I somehow get the bot (or the OGS analysis AI) to give the move
- Welcoming beginners and OGS rating system (A compendium)
So why do we do that? OGS Development This topic is in response to yet another new topic in which a beginner is complaining about getting trashed by much stronger opponents and the OGS advice is to just take a few beatings to establish a rank OGS uses the Glicko-2 rating system This has advantages of stability, speed of response, etc
- How to get a game on OGS (Understanding the game graph)
So, you’re new to OGS Welcome! This post will demonstrate how to navigate the game graph and find a game First, let’s look at the game graph: ###On the main page### ###On the chat page### How to read it The axes Y-axis (Vertical) The y-axis is rank The higher your rank, the higher your open challenge will appear on the graph and vice-versa X-axis (Horizontal) The x-axis is game time

- A short travel through OGS history - OGS - Online Go Forum
So, since I wondered what OGS and Nova looked like before the merge, I went to the Internet Archive and took a few screenshots of how the login screen looked in the history of the server 😊 Note that I haven’t actually been playing Go around that time, so all pictures are taken from the Internet Archive I hope you enjoy the small journey as much as I did: November 2005: The first mention
